Aesthetics – The Jaguar E-Type

Published in Stanceworks.com

Born in 1961, the Jaguar E-Type, or XK-E as it was sold to the American market, has grown into an automotive icon, holding a unique and nearly-impossible to dispute position as one of the most beautiful cars history has to offer. Beyond is poise and elegance is a car with roots in racing, having derived from Jagaur's hugely successful Le Mans-winning D-Type roadster. With a similar monocoque and tube-frame construction, the E-type sports independent suspension front and rear, with disc brakes to boot. The massive six-cylinder engine gave it class-topping performance, touting a sub-7 second 0-60 sprint. Needless to say, it comes as no surprise that the big cat makes for a tremendous race car. With the Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion just hours away, we take offer one final piece in celebration of the week to come. This gorgeous E-Type wears its battle scars with honor - something you'll find throughout the paddock this weekend at Laguna Seca. If you'll be joining us this weekend, take the time to listen to the story each car has to share - often its far more than skin deep.
