2018 Subaru BRZ with a Honda K24 and DCT
Geaux Moto purchased a wrecked 2018 Subaru BRZ tS to rebuilt into a track car. After repairing the front damage they worked on upgrading the powertrain. In the engine bay they swapped a turbocharged Honda K24A2 inline-four on KPower mounts. The motor features factory internals, K20 oil pump, 50-degree VTC cam gear, Garrett G30-770 turbocharger, Artec exhaust manifold, and custom 3-inch exhaust. The combo produces 407 hp (303 kW) on 14-15 psi (0.9-1.0 bar) of boost. Behind the motor is a seven-speed DCT from a BMW 135i running on a CANTCU. A custom aluminum driveshaft sends power to a GReddy diff housing with a OSGiken limited-slip differential and Speedtech Performance 3.3 ratio. The car rides on a full SPL suspension which includes their lower control arms, tie rod ends, end links, and trailing arms. Geaux Moto added a set of Racecomp Engineering Tarmac 2 coilovers and kept the factory Brembo calipers but upgraded to GiroDisc Racing two-piece rotors. Those are covered by Apex VS-5RS 17×9.5-inch wheels wearing Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS 255/40 tires. Listen to Geaux Moto explain how the performed the swap before racing the car.
