1983 Hurst/Olds with a 455 ci Big-Block
Tommy Boshers and Joel McMillan gave this 1983 Hurst/Olds a new life on Detroit Muscle. The car originally came with a 307 ci Oldsmobile V8 and 200-4R four-speed automatic transmission. Tommy and Joel swapped those for a 455 ci big-block V8 built by Mondello Performance capable of 540 lb-ft (732 Nm) of torque and a Monster Transmission 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. They also swapped the factory rear end for a Quick Performance 9-inch rear end with a 3.50 ratio. Tommy and Joel installed a full Ridetech air suspension controlled by their RidePRO E5 air ride control. They included Ridetech’s StreetGrip swap bars, drop spindles, and StrongArms control arms. They replaced the factory brakes with Wilwood six-piston front brakes and four-piston rear brakes. Those are covered by Weld wheels with Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires (235/40, 255/45).
