1970 Datsun 510 with a Turbo KA24
This 1970 Datsun 510 competing in SCCA until 2001. It sat for several years until 2010 when the current owner purchased it and spent 12 years working on it. The owner is selling the car on Bring a Trailer located in Kent, Washington.
The car is now powered by a turbocharged KA24DE inline-four making 253 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The motor features a bored 0.05-inch over block, Wiseco pistons, 550 cc injectors, Garrett SR20DET T28 turbocharger, modified oil pan, custom exhaust manifold, and NismoTronic ECU. Behind that is a five-speed manual transmission and Subaru R160 limited-slip differential.
The suspension features heim-jointed control arms, Troy Ermish Stage 2 coilovers, and DGR 1-inch front sway bar. The steering system uses a James Boswell Coachwerks rack and pinion crossmember with a Silver Mine Motors electric power system. Behind the SSR 15-inch wheels are 280ZX calipers and Powerslot slotted rotors.
The driver and passenger sit in Recaro LXB seats protected by a half roll cage. In front of the driver is a Sparco steering wheel and Gilson Design gauge cluster holding Speedhut, Innovative Motorsport, and Autometer gauges.
