Mazda Miata with a 800 hp Turbo K24
Joshua Briggs from Briggs Motorsports has put a lot of time into building the ultimate Time Attack Mazda Miata. The car started racing with a turbocharged Mazda BP-series inline-four producing 500+ hp. The power proved too much for the motor, BMW ZF six-speed transmission, and rear differential. Joshua swapped to a turbocharged Honda 2.2 L K24 inline-four, Momentum Motorsport-prepped Quaife QBE69G six-speed sequential transmission, and Cadillac CTS-V differential. The motor features a 2.2 L crankshaft, custom BC rods, custom CP pistons, 4Piston Kingpin head, 4Piston camshafts, Dailey dry sump, and titanium exhaust. The K-series motor produces 700-800 hp (E85) and sits on custom mounts and a V8 Roadster subframe. Listen to Joshua explain how he built the Miata to Larry Chen while at Virginia International Raceway.
