ICON 1977 Bronco with a Coyote V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Jonathan Ward recently took their newest ICON BR #34 out for a test drive. This project started with a 1977 Ford Bronco which is a first for ICON. They usually select 1975 or earlier Ford Broncos because they are emission exempt. This is favored because Ford has not developed an emission certified Coyote V8 crate engine. But the client really wanted this one and lives in a state that doesn’t require emissions certification. Under the hood sits a 5.0 L Coyote V8 that produces 426 horsepower and 402 lb-ft of torque. Behind it is a Ford 4R75W four-sped automatic transmission connected to a Atlas II part time transfer case. Power is sent to all four wheels through Dynatrac Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear differentials. This Bronco also features ICON’s new Retro series wheels. Listen below as Jonathan explains all that went into ICON BR #34.
