Mazda Miata with a Cummins 4BT

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Pistonhead Productions unveiled their diesel powered 1990 Mazda Miata drift car at Gridlife. Several months ago they held a crowdfunded campaign to gather enough money to build it and then in June held a 48 hour live build for the fans to watch. You can see the 3.9 L Cummins 4BT inline-four took up every inch of room in the engine bay. Behind the engine is a Ford T19 four-speed transmission and Ford 8.8″ rear end. The team is currently having a roll cage fabricated and then it will see the track. After it has competed for one year it will be given away in a raffle. Tickets for the raffle are still being sold at their Indiegogo page with all the proceeds going to the Huntsville High School Auto Shop Program.
