BMW E91 Wagon with a LS3 V8 and 8HP70
TF Works (Touge Factory) wanted a project to develop new parts from. The company started with a 2011 BMW 328xi (E91) wagon powered by a N52 inline-six. In the engine bay they swapped a 6.2 L LS3 V8 rebuilt with OEM forged LTx crankshaft, forged rods, Wiseco 12.5:1 pistons, BTR Stage 2 camshaft, and Melling high pressure oil pump. On top sit Texas Speed ported heads with CHE Precision trunnions and Performance Design XS LS3 intake manifold. TF Works the motor is good for 500 hp (367 kW) to the wheels. Behind the motor is a 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission from a Dodge Ram 1500 thanks to a Domiworks adapter plate, OEM torque converter, and OEM LTx flexplate. A 3.5-inch one-piece aluminum driveshaft transmits power to a E90 M3 rear differential. The wagon’s suspension features a RWD 335i aluminum front subframe with M3 control arms, Reinharte 3-way adjustable coilovers, and Wilwood six-piston brakes. In the back is an E90 M3 subframe, suspension, and disc brakes. On each corner are Advan GT Beyond 18×9.5-inch (+22) wheels with Falken RT660 tires (235/40, 265/35).
