1947 Chevy Truck with a 427 ci V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Dig’s Rod Shop spent 11 months building this 1947 Chevy 3100 pickup at their company in Iowa. Under the classic hood is a LS3 V8 stroked to 427 ci (7.0 L) producing 640 hp (470 kW). The motor uses Ultimate headers and 3-inch stainless steel exhaust with electric cutouts. Behind the V8 is a 4L60 four-speed automatic transmission and Strange Engineering 9-inch rear end. The truck rides on an Art Morrison chassis with a parallel 4-bar rear suspension and Wilwood six-piston front brakes. The restored body features “Zey Bronze” paint and raised bed lined with reclaimed wood from a 100-year-old barn. The custom interior has a leather bench seat, Classic Instruments gauges, Sparc Industries billet steering wheel, and Vintage Air AC system.
