Blacked Out – A Second Look at Alex Steff’s BMW E9 3.0 – Mike Crawat Photography
It's Thursday, which universally signals the end of the week: we're almost there, and we're almost done. If you're stateside, there's a decent change you're prepping for departure in anticipation of this weekend's Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion: one of, if not the biggest vintage motorsports events in the country each year. If you're one of our global readers, or if you're simply not able to make it to the world-famous Laguna Seca this weekend: fear not, we're on our way to do what we do best with our cameras in tow. With that, we're winding down the week and hitting the road, so we're capping things off with a simple but elegant second look at Alex Steff's gorgeous BMW 3.0 E9.
We took our first look at this car almost a year ago, in October of 2018. The car is undoubtedly as gorgeous as they come, with perfect, deep black paint, a vibrant red interior, and at the time, a gorgeous set of polished mesh wheels (18" Style fives, for the curious). I dubbed it "the comb," iterating that the history of StanceWorks' most successful feature vehicles all fit a similar mold. This time though, Alex of Qualitatief.de has switched things up a bit, opting for the black-on-black somewhat-sinister aesthetic.
When Mike Crawat, one of our favorite friends and photographers (and one of the most talented across Europe, too) mentioned he had re-shot the car to celebrate its new look, we knew we had to share. While the changes may be subtle, we know our StanceWorks audience simply won't turn down the chance to enjoy some gorgeous photography of a gorgeous car. So with that, sit back and enjoy the latest from what we call "The Crawat Files." And by the time you're reading this, we're en route to Monterey, prepped to take thousands of photos for one of the best weekends of the year. If you see us there, say hello!
