SCCA-spec 1971 240Z
This project started over 5 years ago to make a SCCA-spec car that would be street legal. So a 1971 240Z was completely stripped and a IROC Z28 V8 engine was swapped in. To fit the engine and get the most out of the front end the entire firewall and most of the transmission tunnel was removed. The engine is has a motor plate which allows it to strengthen the overall front end. The SCCA widebody kit added over two inches on each side and allowed the use of those huge tires. The wheels are custom made CCW wheels with the front rims being 11.5″ with 305/30/18 Kuhmo V700 and the rears being 12.5″ with 335/30/18. The exhaust is 2.5″ mandrel bent stainless steel tubing with Magnaflows out back. The fuel system uses a 22 gallon Fuel Safe bladder cell. All the glass except the windshield will be replaced with Lexan. With all the weight reduction the car weights in at 2,200 lbs.
