200 HP K20 Powered Honda Insight
LHT Performance has taken a gas sipping Honda Insight and swapped a K20A engine with a JDM 6 speed transmission. The original Honda Insight came from the factory with a 1.0L three cylinder engine and a small 10 kw electric motor producing around 83 horsepower (70 from motor, 13 from electric motor). Honda improved the gas milage as much as possible by reducing weight everywhere. The gas tank is made out of plastic and aluminum and plastic was used throughout the entire car bringing the total weight to 1,847 lbs. Because of the reduced weight, the K-sight still is able to reach 46 mpg and could mathematically do a 0-60 mph in 5 seconds. LHT kept the AC, Power steering, ABS, and added a S2000 cluster, upgraded braking and suspension. The body was stiffened using a complete sub frame and braces.
