BMW E36 with a 427 ci Ford V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Motor Addicts visited Santa Pod Raceway for Doorslammers 2026. While there they interviewed Chris Creswell and his father Peter Creswell about their amazing BMW E36. The car was originally a 316i owned by Peter’s father. He eventually gave the car to Peter who is responsible for building it into a race car. Peter has experience with Ford motors so he installed a 427 ci Ford Windsor V8 capable of 630 hp (463 kW). The naturally aspirated motor is paired to a C4 three-speed automatic transmission and M3 Evo 210 mm rear differential. The car still uses the BMW indepenent rear suspension. At Doorslammers 2026 the car was drive by Peter’s son Chris. Thanks to his consistent mid-10’s runs they won the bracket class.
