1989 Chevy C1500 with a 632 ci Big-Block

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Anthony Serrao and Mike O’Guin transformed a 1989 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 into a “632SS” on the Music City Trucks show. The team swapped a 632 ci big-block Chevy V8 featuring 11.8:1 compression, 4.750-stroke crankshaft, Mahle pistons, AFR 335 cc Enforcer heads, custom-ground hydraulic roller camshaft, and custom exhaust headers. It produces 806 hp (592 kW) and 812 lb-ft (1100 Nm) of torque. Behind the big-block is a Quicktime bellhousing, twin-disc clutch, and T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission. A 4-inch steel driveshaft sends power to a Quick Performance 9-inch rear end with a Yukon nodular iron center section, Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential with a 3.25 ratio, and 35-spline axles. The team upgraded the ride with a boxed chassis and Ridetech StrongArms tubular control arms, AZ Pro Performance React drop spindles, Ridetech 4-link rear suspension, and Ridetech HQ coilovers. Braking is handled by Baer Extreme+ six-piston calipers and 14-inch rotors on each corner. Inside the wells are US Mags OBS UC144 wheels (20×8, 20×10) wearing Continental Extreme Contact Sport Plus 02 tires.
