BMW E31 with a Twin-Turbo M67 Diesel V8

A German converted their BMW 8 Series (E31) into an “840d”. They achieved this by swapping a twin-turbo 3.9 L M67 diesel V8 from a BMW 740d (E38). These common rail direct injection motors produced 235-241 hp (175-180 kW) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque. The owner installed the diesel V8 using custom mounts which raised the motor to clear the steering and exhaust manifolds. Power is sent to the rear tires through a ZF 5HP30 (E38) five-speed automatic transmission, shortened driveshaft, and E34 M5 rear differential.
