1982 Jeep Scrambler with a 392 ci Hemi V8

Vigilante 4×4 built this 1982 Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 to be the grand prize at the 2026 Charles Schwab Challenge. The classic CJ-8 is powered by a 392 ci Hemi V8 crate motor producing of 485 hp (356 kW) and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm) of torque. The drivetrain features a Bowler 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission and Advance Adapters Atlas II transfer case. Power is split between a Currie Dana 44 front axle and Currie Dana 60 rear axle. The Scrambler rides on a fully boxed Vigilante chassis developed by Roadster Shop. The chassis features a 4-link front and rear suspension with Fox 2.0 shocks and Eibach springs. Braking is handled by Baer six-piston calipers with 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors on each corner. Covering those are Vigilante Signature 17-inch wheels wearing BFGoodrich All-terrain TA K03 285/70 tires.
