Golf R with a Turbo 2.5L VR6

Published in engineswapdepot.com

HPA Motorsports (HPA) debuted another of their limited editions “VR550T” Golf. The project starts with a 2018-2019 VW Golf R with a DSG DQ381 transmission. HPA Motorsports swaps the factory turbocharged 2.0 L motor for a turbocharged 2.5 L VR6 (DDKA) capable of 551 hp (405 kW) and 552 lb-ft (748 Nm) of torque. The motor is able to achieve that thanks to a custom HGP hybrid turbocharger, HPA’s tri-flow camshafts and 76 mm valved exhaust, custom head with upgraded valvetrain, HPA intake manifold, and upgraded fuel system. HPA Motorsports then builds the DQ381 seven-speed automatic transmission with upgraded clutch packs. Power is sent to all four wheels through the 4Motion AWD system. The car rides on KW V4 adjustable coilovers. The brakes received HPA Motorsports’ big brakes kit featuring billet six-piston calipers with 380 mm rotors in front and four-piston calipers with 350 mm rotors in back and electronic parking brake.
