Twin-Engine Mazda Minivan with Factory Inline-Four and Rear LSx V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Nocones Garage spent 60 days building this twin-engine 2006 Mazda5 (Premacy) for the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge. The Mazda minivan still retains the factory FWD powertrain consisting of a MZR inline-four and five-speed manual transmission. However behind the driver sits a 5.3 L LM7 V8 connected to a 4L60 four-speed automatic transaxle from a C5 Corvette. The RWD powertrain is supported by a modified C5 Corvette subframe. Both engines work and have their own cooling and fuel systems. You can watch a quick demonstration of startup and driving in the video below.
