Toyota Corolla Van with a 1100 hp 1JZ-GTE
Goleby’s Parts returned their 1JZ-powered Corolla to work as the shop car. The change required a new vehicle for racing. Goleby’s Parts built another 1JZ-powered Corolla van with the goal of going 8.5 sec in the quarter-mile. The 1JZ-GTE inline-six (non-VVTi) features a Spool Imports 2.7 L stroker crank, Kelford Cams camshafts, Kelford Cams KVS229-BT-X valve springs, Plazmaman intake manifold, 6Boost exhaust manifold, and 7275 turbocharger. The combo made 1100 hp (809 kW) at the hubs on 38 psi (2.6 bar) of boost tuned by Madoc Tuning. Behind the motor is a 8HP50 eight-speed automatic transmission built by GRT Transmission Specialists running on a TurboLamik TCU. In the back of the Corolla is a Hilux rear end with 3.58 ratio.
