Elmer Racing developed the 5.0 L “Hel” V6 as the first all-billet bolt-in motor for the Nissan GTR capable of 4,000 hp (2941 kW). The extreme motor features billet aluminum heads with 42 mm intake valves, 36 mm exhaust valves, and custom camshafts. The block is also billet 7075-like aluminum with 103 mm bore and 100 mm stroke. When designing the engine, Elmer Racing needed a connecting rod strong enough of handling the tremendous forces. Elmer Racing contacted all the aftermarket piston companies but had no luck finding someone to make them for less than $4K per rod. So Elmer Racing designed and fabricating their own out of titanium.
