
Mazzei Formula’s Turbocharged Five-Rotor

David Zachary Mazzei from Mazzei Formula has spent the last four years building the “Mazzei Formula Five” race car. The foundation of the project is a Superlite SL-C aluminum tubular chassis and fiberglass body. In the back of the car is a turbocharged five-rotor. The custom motor features billet housings, peripheral porting, six-stage dry sump, and Garrett G57 106 mm turbocharger. Behind that is a Tilton OT2 twin-plate clutch and Holinger six-speed sequential transaxle. Listen to David explain the project and drive the car in the video below.
