Steph Papadakis Explains How Papadakis Racing Builds a 1200 hp B58 Inline-Six

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Steph Papadakis and his company Papadakis Racing have been building powerful B58 motors for Fredric Aasbo’s Formula Drift Supra since 2020. Over those years the company has learned how to make the B58 inline-six produce 1200 hp (894 kW). The winning formula starts with increasing the motor’s displacement from 3.0 liters to 3.2 liters and lowering compression from 11:1 to 10.5:1. The motor uses a factory block with o-ring deck and billet steel main caps, factory crankshaft, Supertech H-beam rods and pistons, and factory wet sump with oil pump at constant rate. On top sits a Portflow Design prepped head with Kelford billet camshafts and Supertech valves and springs. Boost is generated by a BorgWarner EFR9280 turbocharger. The motor runs on E85 fuel fed by two AEM 400 lph pumps through six ID2600 cc injectors. The motor produces 1000 hp (735 kW) on turbo only or 1200 hp (894 kW) on nitrous. Listen to Steph explain how he builds the monster B58 motor with Mike Kojima from MotoIQ.
