VW Thing with a Supercharged LSX V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Laurence Albrecht and Scott Casey built this custom 1973 Volkswagen Thing for having fun in burnout competitions. Rising out of the “frunk” is a 10-71 supercharger and two Quick Fuel carbs on top of a 427 ci LSX V8. The monster engine was built by Prestige Motorsports which is good for 917 hp (674 kW). The motor is paired with a TCI 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and GM 12-bolt rear end. Everything sits on a shortened Chevy S10 chassis with a 4-link rear suspension. Listen to Laurence and Scott discuss the unique vehicle at Holley LS Fest East.
