BimmerWorld’s 1400+ hp Twin-Turbo BMW E36

Published in engineswapdepot.com

BimmerWorld built their “Bergsteiger” BMW E36 M3 to compete at Pikes Peak. The unique race car is powered by a twin-turbo 4.4 L P63 V8 capable of 1400+ hp on E85 fuel. Roush Engines built the motor with forged rods, forged pistons, ported heads, and Weistec turbochargers. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Hollinger six-speed transaxle. BimmerWorld estimates the car has 3000+ lb of downforce thanks to the modified carbon fiber E36 M3 GTR (ALMS) widebody, modified Lola BK240 front splitter, and custom floor. The 2650 lb race car rides on a partial tubular chassis with custom double A-arm front suspension and factory E46 M3 trailing arm rear suspension with BimmerWorld aluminum rear arms. Below is a video showing the a practice run in middle section.
