Henry Catchpole Drives a Porsche 930 with a F1 Twin-Turbo 1.5L V6

Published in engineswapdepot.com

In 2018 Lanzante announced it was building 11 special edition Porsche 930s with a twin-turbo 1.5 L V6 (TAG-Porsche TTE PO1) and 993 six-speed manual transaxle. These engines were used in Formula One racing by the TAG-Porsche team from 1983-1987. To make the engines more capable of road use, Lanzante lowered the RPM from 11,500 to 9,500 and reduced boost from 4.0 bar (58 psi) to 3.0 bar (45 psi). The company also converted the engine to run on pump fuel, upgraded the cooling, and added provisions for alternator and air conditioning. The motor now produces 510 hp (375 kW) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. In 2022 Lanzante completed the “AP87” 930 TAG Turbo with an engine used by Alain Prost in 1987. Henry Catchpole drove the “AP87” 930 TAG Turbo along with a 700 hp RUF CTR around Anglesey Circuit for Hagerty. Listen to him explain the differences between the cars in the video below.
