We were introduced to the wild Fiat X1/9 driven by Gianluca Ticci at Alpe del Nevegal in Italy by Hillclimb Monsters. The 690 kg (1521 lb) race car competes in E2-SH 2000 class of European Hill Climb Championship. It is powered by a custom 2.0 L inline-four built by Andrea Vescovi with a Fiat block and a Ferrari Tipo F106 V8 head. Hillclimb Monsters reports the naturally aspirated motor is now making 285 hp at 9,000 rpm. Listen to the engine scream while Gianluca races up Trento-Bondon hill climb in the video below.
