RPT Creations’ AWD Mini Cooper with a 800 hp Honda K20 Goes 9.9 sec
RPT Creations and their AWD Mini Cooper (R53) set a world record of 9.943 sec at 148.7 mph in the quarter-mile. The car is powered by a turbocharged Honda K20A2 inline-four using RPT Creations’ swap kit. The motor features factory sleeved block, forged internals, Gato Performance billet intake manifold with eight 2200 cc injectors, custom exhaust manifold, and Precision 6875 Next GEN turbocharger. The motor makes 800+ hp (596 kW) to the wheels tuned by Eric Yosolo Medina on a FuelTech FT550 ECU and RPT Creations wiring harness. Power is sent to all four wheels thanks to a CR-V AWD transmission and Drag Cartel billet transfer case. Both units have PPG gearsets. Behind that is a S1 Built 3-inch driveshaft, 45K viscous coupler, and wagon rear differential.
You can watch the record setting run on the last frame in this post.
