Custom 1959 Land Cruiser FJ28 with a Supercharged Tacoma V6

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Proffitt’s Resurrection Land Cruisers (PRLC) spent 4,000 hours building a custom 1959 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ28 called “Taco Tuesday” at their company in Austin, Colorado. In the engine bay is a 3.5 L 2GR-FKS V6 with a Magnuson TVS1900 supercharger good for 370 hp (272 kW) and 330 lb-ft (447 Nm) of torque. Behind that is a 2018 Tacoma six-speed manual transmission and dual transfer case consisting of a Northwest Offroad transfer case and Tacoma transfer case. Power is split between a flipped FJ60 rear axle with FJ80 knuckles in the front and narrowed Tacoma rear axle with an E-locker locking differential. Everything sits on a custom chassis fabricated by PRLC with a 137-inch wheelbase. Up front is a custom parallel 4-link front suspension with Bilstein coilovers. In the rear is a leaf-spring suspension with Bilstein shocks. A set of Toyo Open Country RT 37-inch tires are mounted on custom Nomad beadlock wheels. PRLC made the custom stretched body using a FJ25 front, FJ40 doors, and aftermarket 5-foot bed. Everything is covered in PPG Lime Rush green paint.
