Hughes Race Built’s 1UZ V8 Makes 515 hp on the Dyno

Hughes Race Built visited the dyno at Marsh Motorsport with a 248 ci (4.064 L) Toyota 1UZ V8 they built for New Zealand Speedway Superstock class. The motor features 10.0:1 compression ratio, custom camshaft, .500-inch – 12.7 mm max valve lift, ported heads, dry sump system, and four-barrel carburetor. On the Black Widow Superflow dyno and running Avgas (aviation gasoline), the motor made 505 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Then they swapped to their new billet intake manifold and made 515 hp and 371 lb-ft of torque.
