BYP Racing specializes in building, tuning, and swapping Honda motors. So when they got their hands on a Suzuki Grand Vitara they swapped a turbocharged Honda K24 inline-four. The motor starts with BYP Racing’s K24 longblock, then adds an Artec RWD K manifold, air-to-air intercooler, Turbosmart 6466 turbocharger, 800 hp capable E85 fuel system, and Hondata KPro V4 ECU. Behind the motor is an adapter plate, twin-disc clutch, and Nissan CD009 six-speed manual transmission. On the dyno the combo made 320 kW (429 hp) on 10 psi of boost and 445 kW (596 hp) on 21 psi of boost. BYP Racing stopped at that power level because of the factory Suzuki rear differential.
