EPS Motorsport’s Audi RS001 Race Car with a Mid-Engine Turbo 07K Inline-Five

Published in engineswapdepot.com

David Rowe and his company EPS Motorsport is building an Audi Group S RS001 replica to race at Pikes Peak. The project starts with an Audi Quattro Coupé covered in custom carbon fiber bodywork. Everything is supported by a chromoly chassis with Audi R8 suspension, KW adjustable coilovers, Alcon brakes, and Rotiform ROC-H wheels. In the back of the car is a turbocharged 2.5 L Audi 07K inline-five featuring forged rods and pistons, dry sump system, ASNU injectors, Turbosmart Hypergate 45 wastegate, and Motec M150 ECU. The current turbocharger setup made 723 hp (531 kW) and 500 lb-ft (677 Nm) of torque. Power is sent forward to a SGS six-speed sequential transmission with a center diff and transfer case. The front differential is connected directly to the front of the transmission. The transfer case sends power through the main driveshaft to the rear differential.
