Custom 1937 Ford with a Mid-Engine Turbo V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Ed Umland built this custom 1937 Ford at his company Eddie’s Chop Shop in California. The wild creation starts with a 1937 Ford Model 78 body that has been chopped, channeled, sectioned, and widened. Under that is a custom tubular chassis with a C5 Corvette independent suspension and QA1 adjustable coilovers. CCW wheels hold Toyo Proxes R888 (245/40, 335/30) tires. Power is generated by a twin-turbo 6.2 L LS3 V8 sitting in the back of the car behind a custom firewall. The motor features two 80 mm turbochargers, Turbosmart 50 mm wastegates, air-to-air intercoolers, and custom stainless steel exhaust. The V8 is paired to a Ricardo six-speed manual transaxle from a 2006 Ford GT thanks to a custom adapter plate, twin-plate clutch, and Driveshaft Shop axles. The interior features aircraft-style seats with brown leather, Classic Instrument gauges, custom roll cage, and a quick-release steering wheel. The vehicle is for sale on Bring a Trailer.
