Alexander Hedt built his Volkswagen Golf Mk2 to drag race. In the engine bay is a turbocharged 3.0 L VR6 built by STT Turbotechnik. It features custom JE forged pistons, Pauter forged rods, AME camshaft, and block girdle. The motor produces 1040 hp (764 kW) and 1220 Nm (899 lb-ft) of torque. Power is sent to four Hoosier slicks through a Quaife sequential transmission and 4Motion drivetrain. Alexander’s best quarter-mile is 8.797 sec. He recently upgraded to a Precision 8085 Next Gen turbocharger capable of 1,600 hp.
