Renault Espace F1 Climbs Goodwood
Renault and Williams race team created the Espace F1 in 1995 to celebrate their F1 championships and the 10th anniversary of the Espace. The wild creation features a carbon fiber body over carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb chassis. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.5 L V10 from the Williams FW14 race car sitting in the middle of the van between the rear seats. The motor produces 800 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque and sends it through a six-speed sequential transmission. Renault states the van is capable of 0-62 mph in 2.8 sec, 0-120 mph in 6.9 sec, and a top speed of 194 mph. Watch former Renault rally driver Jean Ragnotti pilot the van up Goodwood hill in 2004.
