1969 Porsche 911S with a 3.0 L Flat-Six

Published in engineswapdepot.com

John Lewin visited Jay Leno’s Garage with his 1969 Porsche 911S. The sports car has been in John’s family since he father purchased it new. Over that time it has received several modifications. The body features ST racing flares installed in the 70’s with a modern color change to silver. The car started with an air-cooled 2.0 L flat-six that John’s father increased to 2.4 liters and then 2.7 L liters. It is now powered by a 3.0 L flat-six swapped in 1994 with twin-plug ignition, Cosworth pistons, and a Scart exhaust. The combo is making 275 hp and sends it through a 915 manual transaxle. The improved power is paired with Porsche 930 suspension and brakes. Listen to John explain the car’s history to Jay in the video below.
