1975 Pontiac Trans Am with a 900 hp Supercharged LT4 V8
This 1975 Pontiac Trans Am 455 arrived at Schwartz Performance for a complete makeover. The company used their experience and a lot of modern parts to transform this classic F-body into a pro-touring monster.
Schwartz Performance started by disassembling the car and chemically stripped the body to reveal issues and past repairs. They grafted in fresh metal and replaced whole panels where needed. They installed fiberglass bumpers and flush mounted door handles. Everything is covered in “Pearl White” paint accented by a custom hood bird by StickerDude.
Under the amazing body is Schwartz Performance’s bolt-in G-Machine chassis. It features Ridetech adjustable coilovers, heavy duty splined sway bars, and Baer Pro Plus six-piston brakes with 14-inch rotors front and back. Those are covered by a Forgeline TA3 wheels (19×9, 19×12) wearing Micheline Pilot Super Sport tires (265/35, 345/30).
The screaming whine coming from under the hood bird is a supercharged 6.2 L LT4 V8. The motor features an upgraded camshaft, wet sump, Whipple 2.9 L supercharger, upgraded valvetrain, Drive Junky LT4 accessory drive, and methanol injection system. The combo is good for 900 hp. It runs on a Chevrolet Performance LT4 ECU and wiring harness.
Backing the supercharged V8 is a 8L90E eight-speed automatic transmission controlled by a Supermatic TCU. From there power is transferred by a custom steel driveshaft to a Moser full-floating 9-inch rear end containing a Currie center section with a 3.25 ratio and 35-spline axles.
On the inside Schwartz Performance installed custom covered Recaro Sport seats protected by a Detroit Speed four-point roll bar. Vehicle info is displayed on a set of SpeedHut gauges surrounded by the turned swirl dash metal dash plate. Rising from that is a Flaming River tilt steering column with a Billet Specialties steering wheel and Twist Machine paddle shifters.
