2014 Cayman with a 4.2 L 991 Flat-Six
BGB Motorsports specializes in Porsche performance service and parts. They applied their experience on this 2014 Porsche Cayman (981) to perform better at the track. If you want this track monster in your garage, make a bid on Bring a Trailer.
BGB Motorsports started with a new 3.8 L 9A1 flat-six (991.1 Carrera GTS) from a Porsche dealership. They bored and stroked the motor to 4.25 liters using custom Mahle pistons, Carrillo rods, and Porsche stroker camshaft. BGB Motorsport also installed ported heads, GT4 Clubsport intake manifold, 82 mm throttle body, Dundon Motorsports exhaust headers, and LN Engineering oil pan and oil cooler. It produces 425 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. That is sent through a seven-speed PDK transaxle with an OS Giken LSD.
The Cayman rides on Motion Control adjustable coilovers with Dundon Motorsports remote reservoirs. The car’s suspension also features Tarret control arms, iLift lift system, GT3 front roll bar, and Tarret rear roll bar. Braking is handled by 997.2 GT3 six-piston calipers and Girodisc 380 mm rotors in front and 996 GT3 four-piston calipers with Girodisc 350 mm rotors in back.
The Racing Yellow body has a Precision Composites custom front splitter, Getty Design wing, and 981 GT4 rear diffuser. A set of Apex wheels (18×9, 19×10.5) holds Nankang CR-S tires (265/35, 305/30).
The racing focused interior features Schroth six-point harnesses over a Sabelt driver seat and Sparco passenger seat. The factory carpet and headliner were removed. A Sabelt steering wheel mounts on a quick-release hub in front of a 981 GT4 gauge cluster. Everything is protected by a roll cage and Lifeline fire suppression system.
