1961 Corvette with a LS3 V8
Gary’s Rods and Restorations built this 1961 Corvette at their company in Watsonville, California. Under the fiberglass hood is a 6.2 L LS376/480 V8 making 495 hp and 473 lb-ft of torque. Exhaust is routed through ceramic-coated headers and custom tubing to a pair of Borla Pro XS mufflers. Behind the V8 is a McLeod twin-disc clutch and Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission. Further back is a 9-inch rear end with 3.73 gears. The body sits on an Art Morrison GT Sport chassis featuring an independent front suspension and triangulated 4-link rear suspension. The car rides on Schott 18-inch billet wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 225/45 tires covering Wilwood six-piston calipers and 13-inch rotors. Finish Line Interiors in Santa Clara, California completed the custom blue leather interior. The Corvette sold on Bring a Trailer for $171,000.
