Mitchell Race Xtreme’s V10-Powered BMW E36 is Ready to Race

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Mitchell Race Xtreme (MRX) has made a lot of progress on their amazing BMW E36 “M3X” since our last article. The race car is close to screaming around the track. Under the hood is a carbon fiber airbox feeding air into a 5.0 L BMW S85 V10 with a five-stage dry sump. MRX backs it with a Tilton triple-plate clutch and Holinger RD6 six-speed sequential transmission. A single-piece 3-inch driveshaft routes power to a Winters/Sikky quick-change independent rear end. On the outside they removed the factory metal and replaced it with a Floßmann Auto Design carbon fiber body and custom fabricated panels. The car rides on Öhlins adjustable coilovers and Forgeline GTD-1 wheels with slicks covering Endless brakes.
