Totem Automobili’s Custom Alfa Romeo with a 750 hp Twin-Turbo V6
Totem Automobili creates their “GT Super” by combining classic Alfa Romeo GTA styling with modern racing technology.
The heart of the project is a twin-turbo 2.8 L ITV6 “Gloria” V6 designed and built by Italtecnica Engineering. The 90-degree motor features a 4-stage dry sump system, individual throttle bodies, DOHC 4-valve heads, direct and port fuel injection. The company also developed a twin-stage sequential turbo system to offset low and high-rpm driving.
The engine is capable of 600 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque on 98 RON fuel. Switch to 100 RON fuel and the engine can produce 750 hp and 850 Nm (626 lb-ft) of torque. You can read more details on the engine design in PMW Magazine.
Totem Automobili paired the twin-turbo V6 to a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. The powertrain propels the car to 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 sec.
The GT Super achieves its 2601 lb weight thanks to a lightweight chassis consisting of a carbon fiber monocoque with 6082 aluminum front and rear subframes. The suspension features a double-wishbone design with R53 coilovers. The body also uses carbon fiber panels and doors.
Totem Automobili designed the braking system to use Bosch Motorsport M5 ABS system. Up front are Brembo six-piston calipers with 355×32 mm cross-drilled rotors. In back are Brembo four-piston calipers with 345×28 mm cross-drilled rotors. Those are covered by billet aluminum wheels with Pirelli P Zero or Michelin SportCup2 tires.
