Toyota FJ45 with a Turbo Barra
Arron Skillen from Skillo’s Shed spent two years of weekends and about 600-700 hours building his 1982 Toyota FJ45 Land Cruiser. Underneath the cabin is a Land Cruise 80-series chassis and suspension. In the engine bay he installed a turbocharged 4.0 L Ford Barra inline-six featuring a NA block, factory internals, and Garrett GT3576 turbocharger. The engine is tuned by Maxx Performance for low-end torque. It produces 669 Nm (493 lb-ft) of torque at 2,200 rpm. Backing the Barra motor is a ZF manual transmission and 80-series axles. Arron sold the Land Cruiser and is starting two new projects on his channel.
In this video Arron covers the full cost of building such a unique Land Cruiser. He estimates a good company would charge $100,000+ for a similar project.
