1968 C10 with a 755 hp Supercharged LT5
Schwartz Performance was tasked with building a Canadian customer the ultimate C10 truck. The company started by finding a 1968 Chevy C10 with a small-block V8 and manual transmission. It then went through many hours being rebuilt with upgraded power and handling.
At the heart of the project is a supercharged 6.2 L LT5 V8 crate motor producing 755 hp and 715 lb-ft of torque. The motor features a forged steel crank and rods, forged aluminum pistons, 2.6 L Eaton TVS supercharger, and dry sump system. Schwartz Performance completed the engine build with custom 1.875-inch stainless steel longtube headers and 3-inch exhaust.
Behind the powerful V8 is a Quicktime bellhousing bolted to a T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission. A custom steel driveshaft transfers the motor’s torque to a full floating Moser 9-inch rear end with a Currie nodular iron third-member. Inside is a TrueTrac limited-slip differential with a 3.70 ratio and 31-spline axles.
The truck sits on G-Schwartz Performance’s chassis featuring splined swaybars, quick-ratio steering rack, and Ridetech adjustable coilovers. Keeping the motor’s power under control is Baer Pro-Plus six-piston calipers with 14-inch rotors front and rear. A set of Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires (295/30, 355/30) are mounted on Forgeline FF3C wheels (19×10, 19×12).
Schwartz Performance created the interior with OEM-style door panels, new Dakota Digital gauge cluster, and Flaming River steering column. Cassin Customizing rebuilt the bench seat with new foam and covered it with black cloth and vinyl. Schwartz Performance modified the cab bracing allowing the bench seat position further back.
