This Mazda3 MPS (Mazda Performance Series) was built by Yann Heche and his team to compete in European mountain climb racing in Group E2-SH (Silhouette). The project took 27 months to complete and started racing in 2013. The team started with a Mazda MPS shell (sold in North America as the Mazdaspeed3) and built a custom tube chassis for it. This allowed the car to converted from FWD to RWD. Powering the car is a twin-turbo Mazda two-rotor engine which produces 630 horsepower through a six-speed sequential transmission.
