1964 Chevy C-10 with a LSx
A customer sent their 1964 Chevrolet C-10 truck to V8 Speed & Resto Shop in Red Bud, Illinois for a complete restoration. The team started by notching the frame which would allow the truck to sit about six inches lower in the front and five in the back. Then all the rust was fixed and the body made perfect since it was going to be finished in satin black. Under the hood sits an all-aluminum 6.2 L L92 V8 from a 2007 Cadillac Escalade that produces 525 horsepower thanks to a Mast Motorsports camshaft, valve springs and ECM. The engine was installed using generic LSx mounts and Holley’s accessory drive, oil pan, and Hooker exhaust manifolds. Behind the engine is a TCI built 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission with a EZ-TCU management system. To get the factory GM speedometer to work with the modern transmission they installed a Dakota Digital box.
