Acura NSX with a Supercharged C32
Car stereo company Clarion started a new division several years ago with the goal of restoring cars. Their first project was restoring a beautiful 1974 BMW 2002 to a very high level. For their second project they took a 1991 Acura NSX with 240,000 miles and not only restored it but also upgraded almost every part.
Clarion sent the car to AutoWave in Huntington Beach, Califonia for a lot of the car’s upgrades. AutoWave is one of the top NSX shops in the country claiming to have serviced 600 NSXs. There the car’s tired 3.0 L C30A V6 and five-speed manual was replaced with a rebuilt 3.2 L C32B V6 and six-speed manual from a wrecked 2004 NSX.
To further increase power they installed a CT Engineering Comptech supercharger kit which adds 60+ hp giving the engine a total output of 350 whp and 380 lb-ft of torque.
Under the car the suspension was upgraded with KW Variant 3 coilovers front and back with CT sway bars. The team installed a Stop Tech Big Brake kit with four pistons calipers inside a set of Rays Volk Racing ZE40 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Downforce fiberglass fenders were installed to help make room for the bigger wheels.
AutoWave estimates the NSX will do 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, quarter-mile in 13.0 seconds at 115 mph and have a top speed of 200 mph. Clarion is also planning on raffling off the NSX to one very lucky person soon.
Listen as Chris Forsberg describes all the modifications on the NSX and then opens it up at Horse Thief Mile.
