Datsun 240Z with a Four-rotor
Scoot is a company located in Kanagawa, Japan that specializes on Mazda vehicles and rotary engines. They recently finished a project over the summer that involved installing a four-rotor engine into a Datsun 240Z.
The engine was made by Scoot from 13B rotors and housings. The peripheral ported engine with mechanical ITBs produces 522 horsepower and 361 lb-ft of torque. The engine is controlled by a Vi-PEC V88 ECU.
The rest of drivetrain consits of a Mazda FD RX-7 five-speed transmission and a R200 rear end out of Datsun 280Z with a Nismo LSD. You can view more photos of the completed project in Speedhunters’ article.
Scoot’s newest project involves installing a 13B into a Lotus Europa. The engine will be connected to a Subaru transmission that will be converted to run like a transaxle.
