Ricky Ferguson is a man who only cares about going fast. His 1973 C3 Corvette proves he doesn’t have time to waste on hurt feelings. Under the hood of the Corvette sits a 3.0 L Toyota inline-six engine.

The 2JZ has been upgraded with Corillo HD rods, mild ported head, Ferrea valves, Kelford 280 cams, FIC 2150 cc injectors, Wilson 80 mm throttle body, dry sump oil system, electric water pump, Borg Warner T6 76 mm turbo and a Nitrous Express system. The engine produces 1,088 horsepower to the wheels on a factory crank and is controlled via an AEM Series 2 EMS and Boost Leash co2 boost controller.

The engine was taken from a racing Lexus SC300 and put into the Corvette because it was a lighter chassis and it was already setup for racing since it was Ricky Father’s race car. The rest of the drivetain consists of a Powerglide two-speed transmission and Ford 9″ rear with 4.88 gears.

It took Ricky and some friends about three weeks to complete the swap and it went surprisingly smooth. The Corvette got its first test at FL2K15 and ran a 8.90 sec quarter-mile at 153 mph and a 5.23 sec eighth-mile at 135 mph on a lower boost setting.
