Nissan 240SX with a Mid-engine LS4

Published in engineswapdepot.com

This 1991 Nissan 240SX was in pretty rough shape when the current owner found it but it ran and only cost $200. The owner also came across a Monte Carlo SS which was totaled on the driver side. This left everything up front in great shape for transplantation. So the 5.3 L LS4 V8, 4T65E-HD automatic transmission, sub-frame, suspension was swapped from the Monte Carlo over to the back of the 240SX. To lock out the steering capability some tie-rods were fabricated and installed. The LS4 engine produces 303 hp (226 kW) and 323 lb-ft (428 Nm) of torque. The back left no room for a fuel tank anymore so a fuel cell was installed in the factory engine bay. All told the project took six months to build. The car recently set a 8.429 sec 1/8 mile which puts it in the low-13s on the 1/4 mile.

The car is for sale on Craigslist in the San Diego, CA region with an asking price of $5,000 OBO.
