1986 Mustang SVO With A Ecoboost Inline-four
McLearran Motorsports was offered a free 1986 Mustang SVO roller after helping pull the engine from it. Instead of swapping a V8 they decided to keep with the spirit of the SVO and chose a 2.0 L EcoBoost inline-four. Ford originally shipped these cars with 2.3 L four-cylinder with a single turbo and a T5 five-speed transmission. Along with purchasing the crate engine they opted for the EcoBoost Control Pack. This package includes just about everything needed to get the engine running including the PCM, cold spark plug set, wiring harness and accelerator pedal. They connected the factory T5 transmission using a custom adapter plate and Centerforce 9.5 inch clutch for a 1979-80 Mustang V6.
