1951 Jaguar XK120 Custom With E-Type Engine
Jason Len is the President of XKs Unlimited and has over 30 years restoring classic Jaguars. He recently stopped by Jay Leno’s garage to show off his custom 1951 Jaguar XK120. The engine is a 3.8 L E-type with Carrillo rods, JE forged pistons, big-valve head, custom XKs Unlimited cams, and Weber 45 DCOE carburetors. With these upgrades the engine is producing 320 brake horsepower. The rest of the drivetrain is comprised of a Borg-Warner T-5 five-speed transmission with custom ratios and a Halibrand-style quick-change differential. The hand made body is inspired by a LT1 design with added changes such as head fairing, side exhaust, and front air openings to make the car look more aggressive. The car weighs around 2,000 lbs thanks to a full tube frame.
